Core Childbirth Education Class

Empower yourself to be an active participant in your birthing experience.

In this class, expectant parents learn about pregnancy and prepare for childbirth, connect with others traveling the path to (and through!) parenthood at the same time, delight in the richness of Jewish tradition, and ask big questions about the life they want for themselves and their growing families.

The class integrates wisdom from Jewish tradition with best practices in childbirth education. Its non-judgmental, “big tent” approach meets people at this liminal and transformational moment of their lives, empowering them to exercise agency in their own birthing experiences. Topics include: Pregnancy, Preparing for Birth, Labor and Delivery, Comfort Measures, Medical Interventions, and Immediate After-Birth.

Tap into the incredible possibilities of this moment in life!

This condensed version of the core class is intended for people who have already had a child/children and are expecting again.

It is an opportunity to review best practices for labor and delivery while learning how to integrate Jewish wisdom and spiritual practice into pregnancy and childbirth, engaging with big questions about the people and parents you want to be, and connecting with others in a similar life stage.

Expectant Grandparent Workshop

Expectant Jewish grandparents will reflect on their new role and create a “gift basket” of inherited and generative wisdom. This includes family stories, ethical wills, reflective writing, and creative projects (no experience necessary!)

“My husband and I decided to go with Hava NaBaby because it is based in the Jewish faith. My husband is Jewish, I am not, however, we both believe that our son needs to know part of his ancestry. We found the classes to be extremely informative in both the medical aspect as well as the faith based aspect. Thanks to the class, we were prepared and informed for the birth.”
